Pecan Pie Bars
Delightfully flaky and gooey, pecan bars go well with coffee in the morning or tea in the evening.
Ingredients:
Crust:
- 3 cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup margarine
- ½ teaspoon salt
Filling:
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 ½ cup corn syrup
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 ½ cups chopped pecans
Directions:
Crust:
- Grease and flour bottom and sides of 15x10x1 inch pan. In a large mixing bowl, beat flour, sugar, margarine and salt on medium speed until coarse crumbs. Press firmly and evenly into the pan, then bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
Filling:
- Stir all together until blended. Spread over hot crust, then bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until set. Let cool, cut and serve.
